This page is looking pretty dull at the
moment, but eventually it'll be pretty - if I ever get around to
doing some decent graphics for this hub!
I'll get to the point. This is the entrance to
all my websites. From here you'll be able to access both my
personal projects and my professional portfolio (no laughing at
the back, it'll grow!).
I first got interested in website design about
five years ago, but didn't
really have a clue how it all worked. Since then I've learnt a
few tricks, and though I'm not the most technical designer
online, my sites tend to be fairly unique. |
My Personal Websites

A
Blithe Spirit
http://www.blithespirit.me.uk
This is my home on the web. My homepage,
containing all the usual pet pics, babble about friends and
family, and my online journal. There's a section of my published
articles, along with some short stories and a couple of in
progress novels. It also contains all my favourite drool-fodder,
whether it be actors, art, books, films and TV shows. It's a
great sprawling beast of a site, that will never be fully
completed. Of all my sites this is my favourite, and is the site
I work on when I want to relax...I never denied I was a geek!
The site has been online for more than four years, and has
evolved beyond my wildest dreams. I'll be honest though, it's
seen very few updates this year but I'm working on changing
that. I'm also thinking up ways of improving the navigation, as
the beast is long overdue some taming. |

Blithe's
Kindred: The Embraced Website
http://www.kindred.me.uk
This site scares me! It began around the same
time as A Blithe Spirit, and initially comprised little more
than a photo gallery. To say it grew is an understatement! I
loved Kindred from the first time I saw it, and there were very
few places online dedicated to the show. As time went on I
created more and more content, and at the beginning of 2003 I
launched the current version of the site. I have to admit I
really love the look and feel of the site, and fully intend to
do more work on it soon as I've produced a ton of new content
that needs adding, and the navigation needs a serious overhaul. Unfortunately since its launch most of
my time has been spent keeping it online, rather than updating.
Now it has a permanent home I hope to finally finish the mammoth
job. |

Book
Break
http://www.bookbreak.co.uk
This site is the online home of the book group
I run, and was really quickly throw together. It was the first
time I'd experimented with JavaScript menus, which I've now
fallen in love with. The group's mailing list
is housed at Yahoo! groups, but all the club information
(current reads, books we love/hate, and the reading schedule) is
housed on the website. I love the look and feel of the site, and
the organisation, though quickly arranged, has needed very few
changes over the year it's been live. |

Blithe's
Channon Roe Website
http://www15.brinkster.com/blithechannon
You could call this the sister site of my
Kindred site. Dedicated to Channon Roe, who played Cash in the
series, this is an old site. Much of the content has now been
superseded by Version 3 of my Kindred site, and I'm planning
to integrate the two in the near future. I do still like the
colour scheme though, even though the layout isn't as clean as
I'd like. The banner frame was a really bad idea, and swamps the
screen. We live and learn. |

Blithe's
First Wave Website
http://www16.brinkster.com/blithefw
Although I adore the TV show First Wave my
website has been much neglected. I started out with such good
intentions, but beyond enormous numbers of screen captures I
really didn't get around to doing all I wanted. At some time in
the not too distant future I'll have to make the decision to
either let the site go, or do some serious work. |

Ventrescaholics
Anonymous
http://www.ventrescaholics.co.uk
This is a joint project with my best friend.
It's an online fanclub dedicated to Prey and The Invisible Man
actor Vincent Ventresca. We have huge plans for it, including a
brand new version of the site which has yet to go live yet, and it can
only get more expansive as we collect fans and information. |
Professional Work
PetGiftz.biz
http://www.petgiftz.biz
This is a site I designed for AromatherapyGold.com.
They were looking for a store front for their new pet products
range, and I got the gig. I'm pretty pleased with the results,
even though it was a really tight deadline. If nothing else it definitely
stands apart from most e-commerce sites out there, which was
part of the brief. My favourite things are the graduated border,
and the little animated pooches...they were a lot of fun to do. |
